UFD Italian Week- Part I
It’s Italian week at UFD!!
This week, we’ll visit some of the popular destinations which offer Italian food and try to find out the best among them.
Today, we visited the following places in search of the best Pasta.
The Little Prince
Location: Daiji Bridge, Lake Pichola.
First thing you’ll really like about this place is its location, the tables placed strategically on the ghat, at a few feet’s distance from the lake. The place is really popular with foreign tourists due to its lakeside appeal. We decided to visit this place on the recommendation of a friend who had some really good reviews about its pasta. We ordered a Cheese Pasta in White Sauce as I am not a big fan of red sauce. The pasta was served with unbaked grated cheese on top, and the pasta itself was undercooked. The sauce was grainy and missed the flavour of olive oil, also, the seasoning was light and the pasta tasted bland. Though the quantity was nice but it failed to impress taste wise.
Cost: Rs. 100/-
Not recommended, go for something else on the menu.
Location: Delhi Gate.
Though you might struggle a bit with the parking here, the restaurant would not disappoint you. The menu offers various types of Pizzas, Burgers, Pastas and other fast food items (both veg and non-veg). We ordered a creamy cheese pasta (white sauce). The order takes about 10-15 mins. The pasta was cooked well and the sauce was great, added veggies like corn and black olives bring a great flavour to the pasta overall.
Cost: Rs. 100/-
Totally recommended, it’s a great place to grab a quick bite.
Location: Sukhadia Circle.
As we’ve already mentioned about the ambience and service at Shakes Delight(Read our last review here : Click Here), in our earlier post, we’ll jump straight to the food part of it. Since, the menu here offers a variety of pastas (all vegetarian, sadly), the choice was quite difficult. Finally we decided to settle for a Creamy Mushroom Pasta. The pasta was beautifully cooked (al-dente), the sauce was bit light on seasoning and the added mushrooms made it blander. It would have fared much better with a stronger flavour of olive oil.
Not super awesome but worth trying.
